Legal firms believe that planned changes to the legal system will significantly reduce access to justice in 2012. The changes in question relate to the ‘Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill’ which is due to be passed by Parliament this spring. It is argued that the changes will make it more appealing for defendants to go to trial and put more financial strain on claimants, who are often the less well off of the two parties. The Government says that it is tackling a “compensation culture”, yet only around 25% of accident victims ever make a claim. Next – Accident Compensation
Department of Transport statistics show that road accident incidents fell last year by around 4%, but that the figures still do not compare favorably to other European countries. The primary contributing factors to road accidents are said to be failing to look properly whilst driving, exceeding the speed limit, driving too fast for the conditions and drink driving. It was noted that not all road accidents get reported and that even those involved who do report an accident often fail to claim for compensation when they may be due it because of the negligence of the other party. Some said that they have already enlisted the help of a professional SEO company to do the work for them, whilst others said that it is something that they will do this year. Despite an unusually mind winter in the UK, tyre companies have reported a large increase in sales of cold weather tyres for the last 3 months of 2011. The biggest companies say that year on year sales rose about 50%. The figure rises to 300% when compared to a few years ago. This is somewhat surprising as most motorists have little disposable income available, however, they are being applauded for recognizing that having appropriate tyres for driving in winter conditions is a necessity. Winter tyres are made from rubber compounds that differ from those used in summer tyres, and have tread patterns designed to deal with icy and snowy surfaces. Next – Car Tyres
When asked about which promotional gifts they most like to receive, people responded that their preference is for something that they will get some practical value from. T-shirts, bags and USBs were the most requested promotional items, and stickers, candy and key rings were the items that people were most likely to discard. Therefore, businesses using promotional gifts to help with branding and marketing should be willing to spend a little more on items that people will actually use. By giving away quality gifts, people will be more likely to hold on to them and will think more highly of the company that they received them from. Next – Promotional Gifts
